Who I am
This website is run by Roy Arne Olsen, from Honningsvåg, Norway.
It’s a personal space where I share photos, thoughts, and experiences — without tracking, without analytics, without third parties.
Cookies
We use only necessary cookies to ensure the website functions properly:
- PHPSESSID – stores your session ID to remember you between pages (deleted when you close your browser).
- pll_language – remembers your language choice when switching pages, so you don’t have to select it again on next visit.
These cookies are essential for functionality, and you cannot disable them without losing parts of the website’s functionality.
Login and Comments
If you log in or comment on this site, WordPress sets the following technical cookies to ensure functionality:
wordpress_logged_in_[hash]– confirms you are logged in (deleted when you log out).wordpress_sec_[hash]– security cookie for logged-in users.
These are necessary to use the login and comment features, and you cannot disable them without losing functionality.
Optional cookies for comments
If you choose to check the box to save your name, email, and website for next time you comment, WordPress sets cookies: comment_author_*, comment_author_email_*, and comment_author_url_*.
These are not necessary – you can choose not to check the box. They are deleted when you clear cookies in your browser.
Tracking and Analytics
This website:
- uses no analytics tools
- uses no tracking tools
- shares no data with third parties for analysis or marketing
We do not use Google Analytics, Meta/Facebook pixels, or similar services.
We chose not to use these tools — not because they are illegal, but because we believe it’s wrong to collect data without a good reason.
External Resources
The website is built to function without external third-party services.
Fonts, images, and resources are loaded locally from our own server.
We do not load resources from:
- Google Fonts
- Meta / Facebook
- CDN services for icons or fonts
This makes the site faster, safer, and more independent — and avoids giving third parties access to your data.
Server Logs and Security
To protect the site from unauthorized access, we use the security plugin Wordfence.
This includes:
- temporary processing of IP addresses during suspicious traffic
- IP addresses used only for security and blocking attacks
- no IP addresses used for analysis, profiling, or marketing
Log data is not stored longer than necessary for security purposes.
We take security seriously — but we also take privacy seriously. That’s why no IP addresses are stored longer than needed.
