From the Top of Europe – Light, Landscapes, and Quiet Moments
My name is Roy Arne, a hobby photographer and video maker based in Honningsvåg, Norway. Here I share images shaped by light, landscape, and nature at the edge of the Arctic.
Landscape
Landscape photography lies at the core of my work.
Through open horizons, changing weather, and shifting light, I tell visual stories from Finnmark — a region constantly shaped by the seasons.

Aurora borealis
In a place where winter stretches the darkness for months, the night sky naturally becomes part of my expression. The northern lights and countless stars create both atmosphere and stillness, extending the landscape into the sky.
Bird and wildlife
Since the spring of 2018, birds and wildlife have become a natural part of my photography. Quiet encounters in nature allow space for patience, details, and fleeting moments often lost in silence.

Small Beauties
Plants, insects, and small details in nature around North Cape. Subjects that are easy to overlook, but reveal themselves when you take the time to look closer.
Arctic sailing
Sailing along the coast of Northern Norway means ever-changing weather, long distances, and some of the world’s most spectacular scenery. In this category, I share my experiences from life under sail – from my very first nautical miles as a beginner to longer voyages, onboard projects, photography, and stories from harbours and anchorages along the Norwegian coast.

Alongside photography, I also work with video. Through moving images, I explore light, landscape, and atmosphere in a slower, more immersive way, letting each moment unfold naturally.
